Large Wooden Beads Knowledge Base

Where can I find large wooden beads for my toddler to string? When I was little I had these large wooden beads with large holes that came with a yellow shoelace like string to string them on. They were large beads with big holes ranging from the size of a large marble to a golf ball. We are looking for something similar to help our son with finger dexterity. Most of what we have seen are too small. Any suggestions or links? Thanks!!
What kind dog collar has large wooden beads ? About 10 years ago here in North Carolina, I dug up what looks to be a dog collar. The strap is leather with a buckle and about 14 inches long. The strap goes through 13 wooden beads, wheels, rounds? with holes, they are 1 inch wide each. It must be old because it was almost covered with earth . Any ideas what it is or what it was used for?

wood beads, how do you make them? Is there a machine that can mass produce perfectly round beads from a 1 inch by 1 inch stripping of wood? If not what is the fastest and most economical way of turning large wooden beads? How do they do it in Indonesia?
Where can I get just the wooden beads on the wooden Saint Bracelets? Like in this picture: http://www.giftscatholic.com/images/items/large/Divine-Mercy-Cherry-Saint-Bracelet_1087.jpg All I want is the wooden rectangle beads without the pictures.
Need information on a religious item? Large Wooden Rosary? My shop has been gifted a large wooden rosary that i am trying to gather information on. It was given to a friend by their grandmother when she was 20 and she is in her mid 40's, her grandmother had it for probably 30 years prior so it is most likely 50+ years old, she was informed it was recieved by her grandmother on a vatican visit, dimensions are about 1 inch per bead and almost 6 ft in length, heart shaped centerpiece. I have heard from a few customers (4-5) that it was once a type of belt worn by monks or priests slipped over the head wrapped 2-3 times as a showing of faith. Also have seen ONE very similar one online that was a souviner from Montecleve. I am trying to gather as much info as possible about the orgins of this item, possible age, and what type of wood it may be made of if anyone can point me in a path to help with those things.
Why do I even bother with buying baby toys? His favorites are as follows: an old keyboard from a computer, an empty Cheez-It box, six empty yogurt containers (washed, of course), his carseat, a large green plastic cup, a piece of string with large wooden beads on it, a wooden spoon, and an empty box of wipes. This stuff keeps him entertained for HOURS. But, put him under the $70 entertainment center that Grandma bought, and he's bored within minutes. Give him the $10 scrunchy blanket/teething thingie, and he throws it and goes for the yogurt containers. Well, Christmas and his birthday should be a breeze, now that I know he likes trash so much. So, what's your baby's favorite non-baby item, and least-favorite baby item?

My 2 month old puppy swallowed a wooden bead? I'm really worried. It was ENTIRELY my fault for not monitoring him properly. It's one of those wooden beads from those bracelets that a lot of little kids are fond of. Hrm, that isn't exactly very descriptive. But I measured it and it's about a half an inch, about the size of a marble. Not those large shooters, of course... but it's pretty light and smooth, so it's possible that it'll pass without a problem. I'm still worried, though. What can I do to help my puppy? Of course, I'll bring it to the vet. But how long should I wait and monitor him before bringing him to the vet? As for behavior, I'd say he's been acting pretty normal. He's sleeping right next to me right now... This only happened about 30 minutes ago. The whole time, I've been panicking and researching like crazy... but yeah. I'm just trying to make sure. I have another bead that belongs to the same bracelet. My sister broke the bracelet beforehand and left two beads on the floor... he only ate one. I have the other. But before I started running and panicking, his mouth was moving up and down. Is it possible that he chewed it up before swallowing? But his baby teeth are still developing... but there's a chance, right? Or maybe he "tried" to chew.. The bead feels half as light as a marble.. so, yeah. I searched this up and came upon a question about a dog consuming a marble, which is why I'm comparing it to a marble. Well, he is getting a bit sluggish right now... but it could just be because he's tired. He's eating normally, actually. But if he strains while pooping, there's a possibility of blockage? Now that I think about, all I saw was AFTER it was already in his mouth. There's a slim possibility that he didn't swallow. However, I will take precautions and squish his poop with a plastic bag. If he poops perfectly fine, then there's no blockage? He hasn't pooped yet, of course. I'm waiting.

do you think that this is perhaps a little too excessive and mature for 16 year olds? ok, so i read this out in class and everyone kept on laughing... i mean, there were probs a few poor word choices.... what do you think? The priests marched through the marsh, a swampy bubbling mass of filth, bringing about a foul stench. They moved in a straight line, humming as they walked, there were five of them and one trailing behind, unclothed, this was the night of the induction, the youth would join the order. They reached the altar, a large boulder embedded in the ground, blood-stained. There was a body tied down, a female, there was an oil burner placed by her head. The head priest halted, motioned with his hands, the other four circled the altar, humming louder, a wordless prayer. The hooves thundered over the ground, the soldiers were riding, riding fast, there were three of them, the leader’s eyes burned with anger and hatred. “We must stop these heretics!” he shouted “faster, faster!” the soldiers surged forwards, towards their objective. The priests were circling now, around the altar, the body twitched, groaning, regaining consciousness. The head priest raised a pot to the air; the others mimicked emptying the pots above their heads, small crucifixes dropped to the ground, the head priest kept his raised. The inductee stepped forwards, a beaded necklace was lowered over his head. A knife flashed in the youth’s hands, he raised it in the air, chanting as he did so, his eyes were closed and his breath was steady. The sacrifice was now fully conscious, staring at the knife, it was a girl, she had been taken in the morning, a fresh soul. The girl wore a necklace too, a string ending with some small beads and a large wooden piece, she was bruised, beaten into submission. A sack had been tied over her head, it now lay on the ground, ripped to pieces, having been cut off rather enthusiastically by the priests. The soldiers were walking now, their horses unable to cross the swamplands. A fire flared in the near distances, a small light casting ghastly shadows of demons incarnate. The soldiers surged forwards, drawing their swords quietly, one of the slipped, thrust his sword into the ground to steady himself. The others paused, waiting, he withdrew his sword wordlessly and again they pushed forwards. The ritual was becoming more frantic now, the priests were waving their arms, and practically shouting, screaming at the top of their lungs. The oil burner was aflame, burning with life anew, occasionally a priest would toss something into it and it would flare up, morphing into a purple, green or a bright red blaze. A commotion arose, one of the priests gagged, halfway through his mad dance a sword burst out of his chest, he fell, slowly. The girl screamed, she realised help was near and she wanted it bad. The inductee opened his eyes, confused, the other priests were frozen now, staring, he turned slowly. Where the fallen priest lay now stood a menacing figure, a soldier, his sword erect and bloodied, his eyes gleaming, from the fire, only added to his maniacal, menacing appearance. The other two soldiers stepped forwards, muddy, but equally as threatening as the first, their expressions almost as reflections off a mirror. The head priest bolted, the others watched, then turned back to the soldiers, one drew a knife, thinking to defend himself. One of the soldiers lunged forwards and stabbed the priest instantly. The youth, still frozen at the altar, dropped his knife and ran, the night was dark and he somehow managed to collide with the head priest, knocking him unconscious. The remaining priests were felled swiftly, slow to react they were cut down where they stood some tried to run, but they were too late. The work was done, the priests were carried off, and thrown into a heap, the head priest was found unconscious, and he was thrown onto the pile as well, alive. One soldier stepped forwards, a torch in his hand, he stood for a moment, then threw the torch. The pile went up in flames, the soldiers watched for a while, then turned and moved towards the altar. It took all three of them to lift budge the altar, tipping it onto one side, they rolled it cracking bones of human sacrifices long past their use by date. It took the rest of the night to fully remove the boulder, they concealed it in a cave. Their work was done. haha, the use by date... well that's sort of jokey intentionally... while the wanted it bad... that's just a poor choice of words... along with the "sword erect" lol...3 words? you mean 4... and im 16 too... who cares if you've got a 20 year old bf? what does that have to do with anything?

HOW'S THIS PART OF MY BOOK? Lillith Arch: I was standing in a room with huge windows, with familiar patterns. The patterns reminded me oddly of my family crest but I knew this was the same church where the funeral was being held. The room was large and uncluttered. There was elegant scarlet carpet, a white and brown paint job, and two large wooden doors on either sides of a mirror where there was a girl who looked about 16-17 years old, she was in a white dress with a black ribbon mid-section and another girl probably about the same age was adjusting the dress. The girl with the dress had wavy black hair and striking green eyes. I knew this was my mother. The other girl had very straight black hair and green eyes. She was in a plum colored dress that came down to her knees and had on thin high-heels that had glitter and was silver. “Cecelia their going to own me,” My mother whispered tears falling down her face. Mrs. Landley adjusted the black bow that was on mom’s mid-section. “Don’t worry Karls we’ll be out of this soon I promise.” Cecelia said. “How can you say that I’m stuck, the Luperians have me Celia!” My mom hissed. “Trust me on this kay Karls?” “Fine, I don’t understand why David did that he’s such a jerk. He just leaves me! He said: “It’s for the best Karleigh, Right now everyone has to run...I’m sorry…this is our parting of ways.” My mother cried, tears flowing fiercely down her face now. “I thought this would happen so I gave you water-proof makeup.” Cecelia chastised. A woman with black hair that had been curled to the max and wicked green eyes walked in through a huge door. “Cecelia away now!” the woman hissed. Her voice was edgy and cut the air like a knife. I shuddered from the tone of her voice. ”No mother you don’t own me anymore!” Cecelia yelped. “Shut-up you insufferable rebel of a child I can’t stand that Landley boy!” Mechellia hollered. “This ought to bring you down a few notches!” Cecelia yelled twisting her hand around. Mechellia fell down in pain. I didn’t understand what Cecelia was. It was freaky how her mother fell. “Celia! Don’t!” my mother shrieked her eyes gleaming with panic. Mechellia staggered up and looked at her daughter, “You’re one of them!” she said breathlessly, “You’re a mind freak!” Cecelia backed away and looked at my mother. “You’ve messed up now the Luperians will know.” My mother whimpered. “Zachary will be hearing about this.” Mechellia snapped jabbing a finger at my mother and Cecelia. Cecelia stuck her tongue out childishly at her mother. “You wicked bi…” “SHUT-UP YOU VILE EXCUSE OF A SPAWN!” Mechellia screamed attacking Cecelia. “No!” I screamed. I ran up and laid my hand on Mechellia but it went trough her. “Oh,” Cecelia kicked her mother off and said, “Back off.” Mechellia clinched her fists and said, “You just wait you waste of time…” Cecelia made a vulgar hand gesture and Mechellia stormed off. “Oh now we’re dead.” My mom said furiously. “You had to go and screw up you being someone like me! Just great Cecelia!” she added. “I am so sorry Karls but I couldn’t help it, it’s hard!” Cecelia apologized. “Well we better get finished so this can be over.” My mother said. Cecelia flitted around my mother and fixed the dress and veil. “Whoa,” my mother whispered. The veil had a tiara that was set into her hair, with a braid wrapped around. The veil covered the back of her head and went down to behind her knees. She had white gloves that came up to her elbows and the white dress was strapless. Beads covered the upper half of the dress and glitter gleamed on the bottom half. She had white high-heels on that glittered like Mrs. Landley’s. “Mom,” I whispered. The pain was starting to return in my stomach and it was searing. A man with black, stringy hair walked in a glared at Cecelia. “Oh get over it dad.” She said crossing her arms and rolling her eyes. “A freaky little rebel aren’t you?” he growled. His hair curtained his face and he looked at mom. “Zachary awaits you,” he said And with that he walked out of the room. “Here’s to the end of my life.” My mom said almost silently. She walked toward the door but two shadows moved across the floor causing mom to turn. Cecelia was smiling blissfully. “Someone called for two guys to crash a wedding?” Jameson asked. Mom gasped and dropped the flowers to the floor. “David!” she yelped she ran up to my dad who was standing in a windowsill with Jameson. Dad jumped down and smiled at my mother. “You look astounding.” He said. “And I would care about this why? Too bad for you I’m about to belong to the stinking Luperians and about to die!” My mom shrieked hitting dad in the shoulder. Dad smiled and said, “Cecelia here informed us and Jameson and I thought it’d be best to get a little fun out of a rescue mission. Ready to crash a wedding that’s not-meant-to-be?” Jameson nodded his head in agreement his dark hair slipping in front of his face. “I
Need some ideas for an art assignment? My art assignment is to construct a low relief still life assemblage, using preferably found objects. My ideas so far are to do something which symbolize my grandparents who I lived with all my life until they passed away - I was very attached to them both so I would like my assemblage to be symbolic of them. So anyway, so far what i've come up with is to use a large piece of wood and carve the design of my grandfather's wooden walking stick into it, and then paint and varnish it. I want to use a string of prayer beads, similar to the ones my grandmother had and hang it on the carved wood. Other than that, I'm kind of stuck for ideas =S I want it to reflect the time i spent with them and how much they meant to me,but i don't know how to do that as still life. Ideas will be greatly appreciated =D
I love this excerpt, I really think it's great.! Do you agree? This is an excerpt from my book. Tell me if you enjoy it. It is in the genre of high fantasy. Scott, JEremy and the fire elves have gone to the sea elves in search of aid. Rerngus, the sea elve kin, has just escaped an execution at the hands of Farliegh, the treacherous advisor to the king. We come into the story with Elaina and Raymi, the son and daughter of Rerngus, talking. (i know this looks long, but could you please try and read it anyway?) THanks! The first thing Scott noticed as he stepped into the cave was how little it resembled an actual cave. He had been expecting a dark space with stalagmites and stalactites and perhaps a few bats for good measure. He had at least been expecting a bare, stony grey room without any sign of decorations. Sort of like the cell Jeremy and Illya had been trapped in. What he wasn’t expecting though was this. The cave was a large spacious room that was well lit by candles that sat on wooden tables and two large lamps that hung flickering from the ceiling. The floor wasn’t cold or hard, but well carpeted and soft underfoot. True, the ceiling was stone, but was full of what looked like glittering gems and Scott actually thought he saw a few diamonds shining in the lamplight. To one corner sat a large oaken table, with five spindly, wooden chairs circling it and in the other corner, there was another curtain drawn across an opening. Did this place seriously have more than one room? “Cool,” whispered Jeremy in awe. Ulon and Untor where also surveying the cave with twin expressions of silent wonder. “Hello brother,” called a cheerful, curious voice from over by the oaken table. Scott turned to see a young elven maiden; she couldn’t have been older than he was, rocking back and forth on one of the chairs, tossing small nuts into the air and catching them in her mouth. “Elaina, what are you doing here?” asked Raymi exasperatedly, “Aren’t you supposed to be with Mistress Sercia? “She let me leave early.” Elaina turned to look innocently at her brother. Scott saw a very pretty face with sparkling, playful eyes beneath long lashes. Her flowing, auburn hair was undyed and unadorned, save a single strand of beads that where braided on the edge of her bangs and hanging down over the left side of her face; gently touching her high cheekbone and smoothly curved chin. “Why did she let you leave early?” asked Raymi in the same exasperated tone, “What did you do this time? Did she refuse to teach you again?” After a moment’s pause of those vivacious eyes surveying her brother’s face, Elaina nodded curtly, “Yes,” She said unabashedly, almost cheerfully. Raymi heaved a sigh, momentarily forgetting the fire elves, “Why was it this time?” “It was nothing,” said Elaina, getting out of her chair and approaching her brother, “We were riding Vundestas today and I merely pointed out that mistress Sercia looked like somewhat of an ass riding while wearing a big puffy dress. All the maidens looked foolish, so I asked if I could go change into some regular clothes, but she said the point wasn’t to be comfortable but to appear august.” Elaina said this last part with feigned regality; an upturned nose and a mocking toss of her hair, in a very Illyen-like fashion. Then, giving a cheeky smile, she said, “I said that that was kind of silly and of course mistress Sercia did that thing with her eyes when they bulge and she looks like a blowfish. So I started laughing. I couldn’t help myself,” she exclaimed at her brother’s reproachful look. “It is funny how she turns red. Well then, she fell of the Vundesta in outrage and by the end, I was laughing so hard I could barely speak.” Elaina was smiling again at the memory and Scott couldn’t help but grin at the princess’ tale. He glanced over at Jeremy and saw that he too was staring at Elaina with a very peculiar look on his face and a funny far-off smile playing across his lips. Scott didn’t know what to make of this, so he returned his attention to Elaina. She looked at her brother once again and continued, “She politely requested that I leave and think about what it means to be nobility.” Elaina had a disgusted look on her face as she said the word, ‘nobility,’ as if it were a vile, unclean thing to speak of. “Elaina… What am I to do with you?” asked Raymi shaking his head in suppressed amusement. “Not tell mother or father?” said Elaina raising her eyebrows hopefully, “Father already has enough to deal with since he just got back and mother is still worried that he might be captured again.” Raymi chuckled, shaking his head from side to side, “Oh I am sure mistress Sercia will tend to that, don’t you worry. Now go see if mother needs help in the kitchens. We, as you can see, have guests for father.” “Really?” asked Elaina glancing at the fire elves curiously, she looked mildly interested, but not at all scared when she said, “Aren’t they fire elves? Weren’t they the ones who wanted to execute father?” “ hey thanks! ya this is my first draft.
what is this game called? Please help? I think it was used with marbles or beads, but it was a wooden piece that looked kind of like a ice cube tray with 2 larger openings on the end where the players would put the marbles they got during their turn. you would pic a spot and pick all the marbles up and drop one in at a time all the way around until you run out. the one with the most wins.....Anyone know this game????????
Looking to open an occult shop in Tucson around January. What would be good to see there? I want to know what items you use in your practice. Also, please list any category or title you feel fits you (example: neo-pagan which includes wicca, pagan, satanist, etc). I ask this question because we all have a different perspective on the world and the way such things should be conducted. I know my way and my favored items, but there maybe something that I don't use that you would like to see. Also, we are all from different cultures and I tend to have somewhat of a western perspective, I don't wish to exclude any because of my own faults. I'm not a fan of doing things half-assed. The idea of having pewter castings and plastic beads anywhere in my store just annoys me. I am not opening a shop for pretty souvenirs. I also believe that magic is a very personal thing and should be tailored to fit an individual by an individual rather than deciding that one symbol is the only good one. I'd like to see people from all walks of life enjoy the merchandise, not just a particular crowd. Some items that I already plan on stocking: A large variety of herbs, I believe my order is somewhere over 100 to start with. Pill casings, ointment bases, and witch hazel Variety of bottles and jars for ointments, medicines, and other uses Incenses Essential Oils Crystal bowels, plates, and goblets (like malachite, quartz, jasper, and etc.) A few wooden bowels Petrified wood A medium to large assortment of gems and minerals (including some of the less mainstream ones like kyanite, celestite, and circle stone) Beeswax sheets (in many colors) Beeswax candles (in many colors) Candles from animal fats (in many colors) Parchment paper and homemade paper India ink and maybe supplies for making your own inks Leather Leather bound books (both plain and crystal encrusted) Just a few various sized daggers (wood, horn, or silver handled, some crystal encrusted) Wood boxes of various woods with an assortment of different metal closures Carving Tools Leather working tools One or two seals (wax stamps) An assortment of jewelry (all silver, gold, and possibly a few other semi-precious metals) There will also be some small artifacts like beads and figurines from different parts of the world. I'd also like to include a small book section. These would be pretty much all trade related books and reference books. I do not wish to include anything like "the basics of wicca" or "book of shadows for beginners". I wish rather to focus on the crafting side of working with your own goods as well as the reference section on anatomy, gems and minerals, and herbs. I might add some books on older cultures if I find some good ones. As a final note: It may not happen in the first few months, but there will be a back room for invitation only that will store older and stronger items. Expect these things to be of a higher quality and of a higher price.
What do you think of this? There she was. I knew why she was there the minute I saw that apprehensive look on her face. Beads of sweat trickled down her forehead as she sat on the wooden chair. That wooden chair. I remember being in her position, sitting on that very same chair. I was concerned too. Who wouldn't be? She tried to rock the chair but failed. The chair's carefully chiseled structure added to it's marvelous charm. It was a fairly large wing-backed chair, it had evidently not aged well, looking shabby and disheveled as if it had occupied many people in it’s life, nor was the green a particular pleasant one. It was lined with many small shiny wooden-looking bumps along all the edges and had wistfully curling walnut feet which gleamed in the flickering light of the fire crackling away a short distance to the side. Even after so many years, it is still yet stable and floods memories through my mind. The girl who sat upon it was waiting. Waiting for something that could change her life for the better-or the worst. Waiting for something which meant the world to her. Waiting for...her Gcse exam results. Her hands began to shake as she was not the penultimate receiver any longer. She was next. Her apparel was quite casual: a black top partially concealed by a white puff jacket; adjunct with some dark slim jeans. A malodorous stench filled the air. It was intangible. "Katie Parker, please". The girl hesitantly stood, accompanied by her father. She tried to look calm however I knew she as dreading every moment as she had a faint-hearted look in her eyes which told it all... Im 13 by the way :)
Read the beginning to my fantasy novel? Please!! ;) Let me know what you think.? I need to get an idea on how my writing comes across to others. I would greatly appreciate any feedback, as I have to yet to let anyone read my work. I have taught myself over the last two years, so I know there will be small mistakes. This is the beginning to the first chapter of four planned books I hope to write. Please let me know what you think!! Honestly!! CHAPTER ONE -- BALION The rain was constant. What had started a day of clear skies and singing birds had turned out to be a dreary, rain soaked afternoon, with rolling black cloud endless in every direction. There was enough light to be able to distinguish day from night, but if he didn’t already know better, Balion would have said the dark of night would soon be upon him. Balion walked at ease through the city streets, paying no mind to the puddles underfoot as he made his way home. When the rain had first started Balion briefly considered whether to erect a shield to keep himself dry. He had seen the gifted who study at the Hall walk around thus, dry and comfortable, while everyone else scattered in a vain attempt to evade the persistent drops of rain. However, with his granddad dismissing the very logical arguments Balion had put forward, he had no choice but to suffer the same fate as those around him, and get soaked. Although he silently cursed his granddad for his stubborn ways, Balion was actually in agreement. It would only be the cause of unwanted attention. And that was the last thing he wanted. He already got odd looks from the more observant people he passed. Their eyes first drawn to the band of gold around his finger, then to him in person. Like all other gifted it was compulsory for him to wear the ring, signalling to the world at large he had the Gift and was being taught its uses. He was only thankful that he didn’t attend the Hall, and be made to wear those ridiculous robes he often saw the students march around in. Completely soaked through, tired and hungry, Balion nevertheless had a smile playing across his features. No matter the discomfort he felt at the moment, Balion was jubilant. The day had been a great success as far as he was concerned. The only problem now would be convincing his granddad it was so. As Balion walked on, he debated with himself whether he should discuss with his granddad what he had learned. The only problem was knowing Julian would be unhappy, at least to begin with. He constantly reminded Balion to stay away from his pain barrier. Yes, he would certainly be unhappy. Balion took the next left turning he came to. He had money in his pocket, earned from the scribe work he done for Jerry. That would pay for a bottle of Blueberry wine. Julian liked Blueberry wine. The merchants quarter of the city was as usual, busy and intriguing. The rain couldn’t mask the allure of glassed windows, each displaying its own treasured items. Tall gowns were displayed on wooden men, with hats on wooden heads. Intricately carved tables and chairs, roasted meats, swords and armour. Everywhere one looked there was something to catch the eye. Balion often spent an hour or two just walking from shop to shop, looking to see what was new on display. There was one shop in particular that caught his eye. The same one that drew his attention every time he passed it. It only had a small display window compared to the others it lay alongside, but the objects on show were a rarity only seen in that singular window. Above the door was a carved inscription “Charms” It read. And through the glass plane was an assortment of crystals and beads. The crystals in particular seemed to have a certain enticement to them, willing him to go and have a look. He forced himself to look away, and carried on to the shop he was after. As Balion moved up the street, carefully weaving in and out of passing people and carts, he felt a slight shift. A “shift” was what Balion called sensing someone manipulating forces. It was maybe a hundred feet in front. And Unless he wanted to walk all around the back streets, which he didn’t, there was no way Balion could avoid whoever was causing the shift. No doubt it was one of the students from the Hall. He did see them from time to time, but tried mainly to stay out of their way. They all seemed to have attitudes that Balion didn’t care for, and liked to favour him with unsavoury comments. Sensing the shift from the left of the street, Balion moved over to the right. He knew most of the students by sight, and regrettably, they knew him too. The three who stood held pastries in hand and seemed to be overlooking the people who made their way in the rain. They stood protected with a light aquatic blue shield, making them easily distinguishable. Balion put his head down and moved on, hoping to go unrecognised. He knew the three. You there, Miss, in the green t-shirt, it looks like you are curious about what your future holds in store for you. Come and get your palm read!” “No thanks,” I gave a half smile and looked around at moving people, all silhouettes now from the sun descending behind them. “Trust me miss, this isn’t something you want to miss out on, I’ll even make a deal with you, how ‘bout only $3!” the man said, sweat was trickling down his burnt red face and bald head. I debated in my head whether to go or not, I really didn’t have anywhere else to be, so I decided to go in. The bald man held the beads out of my way as I walked into the canvas tent. There were fake shrunken skulls on the walls and bottles of colored water with labels of different potions wrapped around them. By the bottles lay an old antique dagger. In the middle of the tent was a round table with a lace table cloth and crystal ball in the middle. An old woman sat at the table with a dark purple scarf tied around her head and a long white gypsy dress covered her old wrinkly skin. “Come, sit down,” she said in some fake raspy voice, “You come to see Madame Fortunado, you must pay first.” I reached in my pocket and found $3. As I put out my hand to give her the money she snatched it out of my fingers. “Good, now we can start, give me your right hand.” I reached my hand out to her and she grabbed it with her cold rough hands. “Now, I will start with the life line” She slowly traced her finger on the line. “Hmmm, interesting, it shows you have had trouble in your past, you’ve done bad things, but not because you wanted to, you blacked out and couldn’t remember, is Madame Fortunado right?” The hair on my arms and neck stood up. “I have black outs, but I never knew anything that had happened when I blacked out. I always just woke up and nothing seemed to be wrong.” “Well, maybe for five more dollars I can hypnotize you and ask your unconscious self what happens during your black outs.” Even though I don’t believe in this type of thing, I decided to try it, so I scrounged for five more dollars in my pocket. “Good, okay now close your eyes and relax.” I heard her get up in her chair and come in front of me; she laid her fingertips on my eyes. “Listen to my voice, and go to sleep, go into a deep sleep. “Now, when did your first black out happen?” “When I was ten.” “What happened the first time you blacked out?” “I don’t remember I was in my room and when I woke up I was in the hospital, in a solitary room, I couldn’t remember what happened.” “What about a recent black out? Can you remember, you can trust me, now just remember and tell me what you did?” Suddenly I felt pressure on my wrists and I tried to open my eyes, but I couldn’t. I started to kick and I heard her fall on the table. “What are you doing!” she screamed. I lunged out of the old wooden chair onto the old woman and pinned her down. I felt around the floor and found the dagger. I grasped it in my hand and with all of my strength I stabbed it into her chest. An ear-splitting scream bursted from her throat. Suddenly I felt large hands wrap around my arms and pull me off. I opened my eyes. There was blurs of white around me. When everything became clear, I could see I was in a room. There were no windows only a door. When I tried to sit up my hands and feet were bound.
what do you think of my fanfiction? Okay, so this is the rough draft Please tell me what you think :D and how i could improve it x 14th December 1992 She ran though the garden, her long hair dancing freely in the breeze. Renee was waiting at the bottom of the lawn, looking as beautiful and elegant since she last saw her. “Bella!” Renee yelled, pulling her into a tight hug. “I missed you baby.” “I missed you to momma.” Bella smiled, her front two teeth missing. Her mum set her down, holding her hand as they walked though the large garden. “I see you still have Mr. Scruffy.” Renee gestured toward the tattered teddy clutched in her daughter’s arms. “Of course momma. I never go anywhere without him. He’s my best friend.” Bella’s eyes where filled with sadness, mirroring her mothers. “Oh, baby girl. Even though I can’t stay, you know that I love you. And when I’m gone, if you ever need to find me, I will always be in here.” She rested her palm on Bella’s chest, directly over her heart. “Bella” Nana Marie called from the kitchen. “Come in now honey. It’s freezing.” “Coming, Nana.” Bella answered before turning back to her mother. Tears were running freely down Renee’s face, causing her mascara to smudge. “Please don’t go momma. I love you.” Bella cried, her chest breaking into sobs. “I have to. I’m sorry, baby girl. I love you so much Bella. Never forget that.” Her Mother hugged her one last time, before walking away. “Bye, momma.” Bella whispered, staring after Renee fading figure, before walking back to the house, clutching Mr. Scruffy closer to her body. “Bella?” Nana Marie asked. “What’s up honey?” She crocheted down to Bella’s level, staring into her tear swollen eyes. “I saw Momma.” Bella cried, sobbing on her grandma’s cardigan. Nana Marie suddenly looked pained. Her eyes widened and her mouth fell slack. She hesitated before speaking. “Bella. Mommy died last year.” My eyes snapped open, beads of sweat trickling down my skin. I scanned the room wearily till my gaze rested on the alarm clock, which lay on my left on the small wooden bedside table. 2:57 Am. Sighing, I propped myself up on my pillow, rubbing the sleep away from my eyes. Once my eyes focused, I saw a small figure in the corner. “Go away” I sighed before pulling a pillow over my head. “Don’t you people ever give me a rest?” My voice was muffled by the pillow. “Bella, it’s me.” The figure said. I moaned, pulling the pillow off my face. “Oh right, okay. Sorry. I thought you was… well you know.” I laughed, running my hand through my hair. Alice walked over to my bed, sitting on the corner. “Bella, you were sleep talking again. Well more like sleep screaming.” She stroked my knee in soothing motions. “I know. I had the dream again.” She leaned in, pulling me into a tight hug. “Thanks Alice. For everything.” I whispered against her shoulder. “What are best friends for.” She laughed. “Now try and get some rest.” “I will.” I mumbled. Alice kissed my cheek before walking out of the room. I closed my eyes once more and lulled myself to sleep.
What do you think of my writing? Note:this is only part of my story that I picked out. Thank you! The wise magic man appeared then and shuffled to Huana with something griped in his hand. People glanced his way inquisitive about what he had and wondered where he had been. The old man opened his ruff hand to revile a necklace like none Huana had ever seen. Strung with a thin-cut piece of leather, with square beads dyed emerald green, blood red and a bright yellow, the necklace had a black feather at the center, long and wide. Moe, the magic man, put the necklace around his small child’s neck. “Your training starts tomorrow and you will need this charm to protect you from evil spirits.” He spoke looking deeply into his eyes. “Sleep” He said before walking back out of the wet cave At dawn, Huana ran outside the cave entrance eager to learn, but he was nowhere in sight. Huana was impatient to start and was irritated that his father was missing. The tribe people were just beginning to stir and the light was dim with white fog low over the dusty ground. Suddenly, he heard chanting echo faintly from the pinnacles, a low, “Tusa Musa Lusa”. It was strangle compelling and tugged Huana to move down the narrow rugged stone wall path. As he meandered further, the chanting got louder and felt closer. Huana was carful where he stepped and watchful of snakes as he came to a place unknown to him. It was a huge crater, free from the knife-edged towers, and around him was flourishing green life. Enormous hardwoods stood full with large vivid green leaves, and orchids, white and blue were growing in patches in the knee-tall jade green grass. Roaming the ground cricket-like insects as fat as elephants and huge snails hung on thick leaves. A white-furred lemur watched from above as the small boy looked around him in wonder. Emerald green snakes and fat rats scoured over the lush floor, and the air around the lovely place was heavy and wet, cause sweat to form on the boys face. Suddenly he heard something, and looked over to where the magic man sat on a grass weaved mat. Huana hadn’t even seen him, and wondered how long he had been there. Walking over to him, he could see strange objects around him where he sat. A drum, bowls of mud, rattles, bird skulls, herds, and a small fire with tea bubbling nearby. “Sit, have some tea to relax you.” The ancient man said laying a wooden cup in his hands. Huana chugged the drink fast eager to get started. “Okay, so what do I do first?” Huana said feeling the teas warmth settle into his stomach. His father crocked his brow. “Maybe you should learn patience first.” He said laying his cup down beside him. Then he sat up straight. “Close your eyes, relax, and rest your hands on your thighs upward. Take deep breaths as if you were asleep.” Huana did what he said, but after a long while he peaked his eyes open wondering why he had to do this. “Close them.” The magic man said. He obeyed. By noon, they were still sitting there, and Huana started to dose off where he sat bent over when Moe took a deep breath and opened his eyes. “Huana, open your eyes.” He opened them, briefly blinded by the intense sunlight. “Now, I’m going to teach you healing first.” He said grabbing a purple petal vine-like stemmed flower in his hands. “This is a foxglove. You can find these in wet places in the shade. The petals are made into a medicine to make the heart beat, but it’s very strong and only used when it’s in life or death. You boil the water and let the petals soak, but don’t put too much, that could kill. Only a few sprinkles.” He said and then laid the flower back down. He picked up a yellow flower with spiked leafs with red blotches on them. “This is a Redspot. The leaves can be used for a pain reliever for cuts and burns. Pound the leaves into mush and add to boiling water, then mix till it soaks up and it should turn into a cream.” The healer went on to show him many plants, and Huana didn’t know how he was going to remember it all, but his stubborn determination many him decide; he was going to be the best magic man the tribe had ever known. After they went over and over the plants, his father made him repeat it all back to him. They ate left over food from the meal last night and then he decided they needed to go home. “You still have to do your chores, son.” His father said walking with him to the cave. btw, I'm fifteen. Thank you! Yeah, I'm bad with writing errors. But the reason you are confused about the story is because, like I said, this is just a part in it. I need to go over it. But I think I'm pretty good since I don't take any classes. I'm only writing the story for me. I'm not getting it published or anything. If you want to read all of it, go here: http://www.worthyofpublishing.com/chapter.asp?chapter_ID=56546
How do I seal out draft in door jam? I have an exterior metal patio door with front glass panel that is super drafty (no storm door). I live in a townhouse that was built 5 years ago. (I live in MO and we are having a bad cold snap this whole week.) The builder did a poor job installing all the door and windows (Cheap labor was used and they made no effort to seal anything up tightly). I have a major air drafts on both sides of my only patio door (especially along door jam from top to bottom.) What do I use to seal up gap on the sides of the door? There is a noticeable gap running from top of door to bottom on both sides but especially on the left side where the door knob is. All I see on internet are those lame foam or bead things you lay across bottom of door to block drafts but I don't see anything for the left and right sides of the door to put in the door jam area. I don't know about plastic sheeting. I want to be able to open and close my patio door on occasion sometimes even in winter. I am probably going to have to replace entire wood door frame already this spring. There is major wood peeling and rotting going on in wooden door jam area and the little rubber sealer doesn't do anything. When I tug on the foam, rubbery seal thing running along the door frame, I can peak in where it meets door frame and already see some rotting inside there. I can see a lot of light on each side of door and major air is coming through right now. What can I do to keep out air on the sides of the exterior patio door? Up until now I have been hesitant to put in a storm door as that would mean also replacing the metal patio door itself since it would look weird to have a storm door in front of a metal patio door with a large top to bottom glass panel. I would basically be looking at replacing the patio door, the wooden door frame and adding a storm door which I am sure will be hugely expensive for somebody like me that in single and only makes $10/hour. But just to get me thru rest of winter, I need to seal up these gaps running along the sides of patio door. any advice?
I'm just wondering, would you continue reading? This is a description exercise I was asked to do for a class, and I was wondering if you can visualize the setting, and also, if the writing is okay. I would really appreciate answers, and also, criticisms. If you spot any errors, please tell me. :) The shadow of a lighter, though only recently appearing atop the oak desk, began to decrease in size until there was nothing more than a few centimetres remaining. The sun tore through the thick grey clouds outdoors, and then, the sun disappeared. A thick, cool breeze replaced what was previously warmth emitting from the sun. The clouds suddenly became threatening, and within seconds, the first raindrop hit the opened window, and following its lead, a strong gust of wind- The lighter need not hesitate with such a merciless breeze; it fell over immediately, atop layers and layers of paper. The first had upon it a bolded title: An Introduction to Science History: Copernicus, Galileo, and Newton Beneath this page were many pages of small fonts, and several scratches and corrections, all done in red ink. Sitting proudly at the corner of the desk, without a trace of that red ink to spoil the simple white surface, or coffee stains and crumbs to tarnish its crisp, ready pages was the report; perfected after many long, straining hours, all stretched out over a weeks time. A whip of thunder darkened the sky, aiding in the release of rain. The wind continued to blow at severe speeds, sending the stream of raindrops through the screen window, and onto the rough work of the report. Within seconds, papers were landing on the wooden floor and the many piles of clothing which sat upon it. Mere seconds went by before a ragged doll, lifeless and sad, landed on the floor, residing beside page 8 of the rough report. Her black, beaded eyes were cold, but they held more warmth than anything this room had to offer. This room, with the dark walls, and the spinning ceiling fan; the walls which held colourful posters, happy pictures, and fascinating quotes and black marker doodles on post-it notes. Through the wind, and the whoosh of the ceiling fan, came a soft moan, followed by a quiet yawn. The white duvet was pushed to the foot of the small bed, revealing a girl in black shorts, and a large T-shirt, which hid her small figure completely. On her feet were a pair of pink fuzzy socks, and under her bright blue eyes; dark blue bags. The young girl stretched, and sat up in her messy bed. Across from where she sat rested a dresser, which held up a large mirror. In this mirror, she saw her reflection; the reflection of an achieving girl running off of coffee, without more than 4 hours of sleep per night for six days, and who has the messiest brown hair one could possibly imagine. Ayla smiled, “Lovely.” Haha, the doll landed on the floor. She is not a character, just an object. Also, I used to word sun twice because it works. I was trying to make it easy on the reader to visualize, so I wasn't going too difficult. Thank you for the help, and the comments, they're really great!
Homemade halloween costumes ideas (look or else) muhaha!? Here are some of (SOME) of my homemade halloween costume ideas for one person and groups! ENJOY (OR ELSE) Btw hope yall have a happy halloween One person costumes: 1. Ghost Don’t just stick the sheet over your head! Instead, cut a neck hole from an old sheet and wear it over your body. Take a second sheet, and drape and pin it (like a toga) to add a floaty, ghostly flair. Powder your face and your hair white, and drape light chains over your shoulders. 2. Witch To make a witch’s hat from poster board, cut one large circle for the brim, then cut out the space where the head will fit. Cut another large circle, and cut a slit into the center of the circle. Also cut one-inch slits all around the outside of the circle to make tabs. Wrap this circle around to make a cone, then attach the cone to the brim with the tabs (use masking tape to hold the tabs). Spray paint the entire hat black. Wear black flowing clothes and striped leggings. 3. Mummy Cut strips of off-white fabric, like muslin or cheesecloth, and wrap around the arms, legs, body, and head, but make sure the mummy can see and breathe! 4. Zombie Take any old clothes and distress them by fraying the edges and dusting with talcum powder. Pick a theme---you could be a zombie groom, cheerleader, or waitress. 5. Skeleton Using white or glow-in-the-dark fabric paint, paint a skeleton onto black sweats. Use face paints to make your face look like a skull. 6. Vampire Wrap a large piece of dark velvet around your neck for a cape. Pin in place with an old brooch. Wear dark clothes in romantic fabrics like crushed velvet and satin. 7. Cat Start with a leotard and tights. Make a tail by stuffing a tube of fabric. Ears are easy to make from a headband and cardboard. You can also use fake fur for the ears and tail or to trim the leotard. Use face paint to make your eyes look cat-like and to add whiskers. 8. Dog Add felt spots to a white or brown sweatsuit. Make floppy dog ears out of felt, and hot glue them to a headband. Paint a puppy dog face, complete with a big spot around one eye, to complete the costume. 9. Bumblebee or Ladybug Paint poster board to look like the body and wings of a bumblebee or ladybug. Wear with leotard and tights to match, and attach wires to a headband for antennae. 10. Butterfly Sew two long pieces of bright, shimmery fabric down the back of a long-sleeved leotard. Sew the other end of each piece to the underside of a sleeve, so that when you lift your arms, your wings flutter out. Add antennae. 11. Spider Wear black clothes. Make six tubes of black fabric, and sew three on each side of your shirt or leotard. Tie each set of three legs together with strings, and attach the strings to your shirt sleeves so that when you move your arms, all of your legs move, too. 12. Nun A nun’s habit is a basic black tunic (a shapeless dress with long sleeves). If you have a sewing machine, then you can make a tunic! Look online for patterns. Add a white collar to the habit. Then, measure a strip of white poster board to fit around your head, and hot glue black fabric to this strip. Bobby-pin the poster board to your hair. 13. Friar or Monk Make a brown tunic, and wrap a simple rope around the waist. 14. Lady in Waiting Make a simple, velvet tunic dress, or look in thrift stores for a long-sleeved, floor-length, dress. Wrap gold cording under the bustline to create an Empire waist, and crisscross the cording in front. Make a cone hat (like for the witch’s hat, only leave off the brim), and attach a translucent scarf to the top of the hat. 15. Fairy Make a short, sleeveless tunic in a light, flowing fabric, or wear a leotard and a tulle skirt (which you can make by stitching gathered tulle to a strip of elastic). You can make wings by bending coat hangers into the desired shape and covering with white pantyhose. Tie the wings to the body by crossing in front and wrapping under the bustline. 16. Angel Make a short, sleeveless tunic dress, similar to the fairy’s, or wear light, flowing clothes. Make a halo from tinsel garland. Follow the fairy directions for wings. 17. Devil Sculpt horns from papier mache or plaster of paris strips (you can find this in any craft or hobby store). Attach these to a headband with additional papier mache or plaster of paris strips, and paint red. You can also make a pitchfork from the same material, and attach to a wooden dowel or a broomstick handle. 18. Fairy Godmother Begin with an existing secondhand prom dress or any shiny, sparkly skirt and a leotard. Then gather fabric (tulle, satin, or any shimmery material) around your waist, and stitch or staple it so that it drapes down the skirt. Create a wand and a crown from any stiff paper, and decorate with paint, rhinestones, sequins, and glitter. 19. Statue of Liberty Use light green fabric to make a toga. Make the crown from cardboard. For her torch, use a toilet paper tube painted to match the fabric, and glue red and orange tissue paper to the top for flames. 20. Roman Athlete Wear a toga, and make a laurel wreath from fake leaves. Wear plain sandals, or try spray painting sandals gold and crisscrossing gold cord around your legs. 21. Father Time Cut a sickle out of cardboard and spray paint it silver. Glue it onto a long wooden rod (like a broom handle). Wear a black toga, and carry the sickle and a clock or an hourglass. 22. Mother Nature Wear a neutral-toned, long-sleeved leotard and tights. Drape shimmering, translucent blue and green fabric like a toga and safety pin to the leotard. Attach fake flowers and leaves to the draped fabric, and tuck a few flowers behind your ear. 23. Caveman or Cavewoman Make a toga from animal print fabric. Cut the edges into jagged points. Carry a club. 24. Bobby Soxer A poodle skirt is easy to make from a large piece of felt. Cut a large circle, and then cut out the waist to fit. Sew elastic to the inside of the waist, and hem the bottom. Then make the poodle (or any other shape) out of felt, and glue to the skirt with fabric glue. Use pompoms and rickrack to decorate. Wear with a simple blouse, a scarf around the neck, saddle shoes, and white socks, and pull your hair into a ponytail. 25. Flapper Begin with a basic shift dress, and use fabric glue to attach fringe in layers, or you can simply wear a pretty slip and a string of fake pearls. To make the flapper headpiece, cut a length of sequined elastic to fit snugly around your head, then stitch the ends together. Use craft glue to add a feather. Finish the costume with fishnet stockings and heels. 26. Tourist Wear a tacky, Hawaiian print shirt, khaki shorts, sandals with socks, sunglasses, and a camera around your neck. 27. Beauty Pageant Queen Make a sash from satin, and use glitter paint to write your title on the sash. Wear an old formal or prom dress and a tiara (or make your own crown from cardboard and plastic jewels). Carry a bouquet of fake roses. 28. Jailbird Paint white stripes on a black sweatshirt and sweatpants. Make a ball and chain by wrapping bunched-up newspaper in papier mache or plaster of paris strips and painting it black when it dries, then use strips of cardboard (painted black) for the chain. 29. Rag Doll Wear old, baggy clothes and striped tights. Stitch or safety pin squares of rags to your costume for patches. Make two long braids from red yarn and sew to the inside of an old hat. 30. Scarecrow Wear a flannel shirt and overalls, and stuff the ends of the sleeves and pant legs with straw. Top with an old porkpie hat. 31. Swashbuckler or Pirate Wear tight black pants tucked into black boots and a white, peasant-style top. Make a cape by wrapping any fabric around your shoulders and pinning with an old brooch. Cut cardboard into a sword and spray paint it or wrap in tin foil. 32. Gypsy Wear layered, colorful, flowing garments. Tie a scarf around your hair, and wear large hoop earrings, jangly bracelets, and a chunky costume necklace. Carry a deck of cards to tell fortunes. 33. Mermaid Begin with nude-colored leotard and fishnet tights. Wrap a long piece of shimmery material around your waist---it should trail on the floor behind you---and stitch it together in the front. Cut the fabric that trails on the floor into a fish-tail. If you can find two large plastic shells, use low-temp hot glue to attach these over your leotard. If not, then cut shell shapes out of the same shimmery fabric. Accessorize with plastic seaweed (the kind used in fish tanks) and fishnet. 34. Bellydancer Add sequined elastic, fringe, and beads to an existing bra or bikini top. Wear a coordinating skirt and sandals. 35. Hula Dancer A grass skirt is easy to make! At a craft store, purchase green and brown raffia, and staple it in bunches to a long strip of fabric. Wear a brightly colored, flowered bathing suit, and wrap the grass skirt around your waist. String fake flowers to make a lei. 36. Cabaret Dancer Wear a black leotard, fishnet tights, and heels. Make a showgirl-style headpiece by cutting a half circle from cardboard. Attach this firmly to a headband with masking tape. Paint the entire half circle (front and back) black, and cover with black glitter. Hot glue three long peacock feathers to the back of the half-circle. Don’t forget the red lipstick! 37. Superhero Wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt in your superhero’s colors (or make up your own superhero). Make the superhero’s logo from felt, and glue it to the sweatshirt. Make an easy cape by wrapping a piece of fabric around your shoulders; hold it together with safety pins. 38. Clown Wear bright, oversized clothes, like plaid pants, a striped shirt, suspenders, and a large bowtie. Look in thrift stores for a pair of shoes that is way too big, then put one of your own pair of shoes inside the oversized pair so that you can wear them without falling over. Clown costumes can also be made from old band or baton twirler costumes, western wear, and secondhand suits (think hobo!). See the Rag Doll directions on how to make a yarn wig. 39. Jack-in-the-box Cut armholes and legholes from a large box, and decorate the box to look like a jack-in-the-box. Leave the top of the box completely open, and make “suspenders” for the box by cutting long strips of bright fabric and stapling them firmly. Attach large pompoms to a long-sleeved, brightly colored shirt and wear striped leggings or tights. Add a jester’s hat and clown makeup. 40. Robot Use a large box, and cut arm, leg, and neck holes. Spray paint the box silver, and use pipe cleaners, wire, and tin foil to make dials and other robot parts. Make a tin foil hat, and add wires for antennae. 41. Television Cut out the front of the box to make a television screen. Cut a neck hole in the bottom of the box, and wear the box on your head. Use pipe cleaners to make antennae. Dress as a newscaster and carry a microphone to be a “talking head”. 42. Lego Piece Take two circular cardboard boxes (you can find these in a craft or hobby store), and attach them with masking tape to the large box. Cut holes for your arms, legs, and neck, and spray paint the entire box a bright color. 43. Gift Cover a large box in wrapping paper, and add a large bow (or wear the bow on your head). Cut holes for your arms, legs, and neck. 44. Animal in a Pet Store Start with any animal costume, like a cat or a dog. Using a craft knife, carefully cut strips out of a large refrigerator box to create a cage. Cut leg holes out of the bottom, and spray paint the entire box metallic silver. Attach a sign to the “cage” that says “Kittens 4 Sale” or “Puppies 4 Sale”. 45. Bug Caught In Spider’s Web Start with your desired insect costume. Make a large web by tying and knotting white rope or yarn. Attach this web to the back of your costume---make sure to attach it to your arms and legs so that you seem stuck in the web. 46. Person Taking a Bath Cut leg holes in a large, plastic tub. Glue cotton balls (for bubbles) all around the top of the tub, and attach a small rubber ducky to the side. Wear a nude-colored leotard and tights and a shower cap, and carry a scrub brush. 47. Playing Card Take two large pieces of poster board. Set the two pieces on top of each other and punch one hole about six inches from both corners. Use heavy yarn, rope, or fabric to tie the two pieces of poster board together. Paint both sides of a sandwich board to look like a playing card, such as the Queen of Hearts (add a crown and wear red underneath) or a Joker (add a jester’s hat and wear brightly colored clothes). 48. Clock Follow the directions for the playing card, only cut the two pieces of poster board into circles and paint to look like a clock’s face. You could also add movable hour and minute hands by cutting these shapes out of additional poster board and attaching in the center. Wear brown or black clothes underneath. 49. Fried Egg or Deviled Egg Begin with a white sheet, and paint a large yellow circle in the center (or glue on a circle from yellow felt). Cut holes for your arms and neck. Add horns and a pitchfork to be a deviled egg. 50. Spaghetti and Meatballs Take a brown or red sheet, and use fabric glue to stick on large red or brown pompoms (for the meatballs). Cut holes for your arms and neck. The stringy part of a mop (a new one) becomes the spaghetti---using low-temp hot glue, attach it to the inside of a plastic bowl, and wear the bowl on your head.
