What small crafts are popular today in crochet, beads and plastic canvas. ?
I am looking for something quick to make to supplement my limited income. I have crocheted for 35 yrs. I like to use seed beads and pony beads and I like small projects in plastic canvas. I have a tendency to make things simplified, I do not like to go into detail when I make something. Thank you in advance for your answers.

- i'd say make scarfs. they're easy to make, and fast. plus you can add your beads to them and all to personalize and indiviualize each. good luck
- For crochet, the big thing now is to use wool and embellishments with beads, beads strung on ribbon or specialty yarns. Then the item is thrown in the washer for machine felting. This is really hot right now and there are a lot of patterns online that you can use. If you plan to sell the items then you need to make sure that you're not infringing on the designer's copyright. If they say you can print the pattern for your personal use AND you can sell the pattern, then go for it. Just be careful to look for a copyright on each site. For plastic canvas, a big thing now would be coasters and hot pads. Use crochet cotton on the canvas. This way, the finished items are quick to absorb water and won't catch on fire when using around a gas stove.
- I know all about trying to suppliment income with a small business. I suggest you chose pieces that are in high demand, but are low in cost to make. Baby booties witha matching sweater and hat are a HUGE item right now. I recently sold a set for 100.00. It depends on your skill level and colors you chose as to how much you will make. Your loction of set up can also affect your cash inflow. Where I live I would hae only made 30 on the set, but traveling to down town charleston got me MUCH better prices. Some other good ideas are scarves of a large variety, baby accesories, shawls, beanie hats, purses, throw blankets and pot holders.
